Diet. Again.

I’m trying to start eating healthy again, and it’s hard. Hard because that generally means I have to give up gluten – which while much healthier for me, is in every single thing I enjoy eating (or at least seems to be) – and because I also have to start counting calories, since if I don’t do that, I eat like a freaking pig All. Day. Long. So until I start also getting regular exercise, another thing I have to force myself to do, I HAVE to stick to the meager ration of 1250 calories a day.

Frak.

Anyway, this means I will be doing – and blogging – the summer Feel Good Fast. Stay tuned.

  1. I’ve just started (again) the gluten free path. I don’t know if it will help but the ONE year I dramatically lost weight AND conquered my respiratory allergies was when I gave up wheat and yeast (and almost everything else). But, I’m already a vegetarian and a struggling vegan (sigh…parmesan cheese, you are my downfall) so it feels like cutting out wheat is just too much of a sacrifice. Not to mention gluten is in oats too…and beer. Beer! BEER! Okay, wait, this is taking the wrong turn. I’m here to sympathize and encourage you, not remind you of other things. Think potato starch, rice bread, and gluten free beverages. And I’ll suffer right along with you. :)

Solidarity! *fistbump* :) I notice that when I go without gluten I definitely have fewer allergy and digestive problems. It’s just so damn HARD to give it up – as you point out, it’s in just about everything, especially meat substitutes, and I love my meat substitutes. *sigh* I want a bread maker, so I can make my own gluten-free bread, coz that tapioca stuff is disgusting. And expensive. If you want to do the Cleanse I’m doing with me, it’s located here and is chock full of good stuff. I think I’m going to do the Spring cleanse; not too into soups right now. The recipes are AWESOME. I do one of her cleanses every 3 months, usually, but I haven’t done one in 6 months now, at least. I definitely miss having done them, too. http://feelgoodguru.com/feelgoodfast
